I'm a muslim woman
Feel free to ask me why
When I walk,
I walk with dignity
When I speak,
I do not lie

I'm a muslim woman
Not all of me you'll see
But what you should appreciate
Is that the choice I make is free

I'm not plagued with depression
I'm neither cheated nor abused
I don't envy other women
and I'm certainly not confused


Note, I speak perfect English
Et un petit peu de francais aussi
I'm majoring in Linguistics
so you need not speak slowly

I run my own small busniess
every cent I earn is mine
I drive my Chevy to school & work
And no, that's not a crime!

You often stare as I walk by
You don't understand my veil
but peace & power I have found
As I am equal to my male!

I'm a muslim woman
so please don't pity me
for God has guided me to truth
And now I'm finally free!

Me, Myself, and I

All refering to yours truely Reem. I guess I should've started out with this instead of hopping onto the poetry-writing cruise but I guess I didn't wanna sound cliche . Maybe I never thought anybody would read this anyhow ,with pride still intact, alittle of this & that about me won't hurt. I'm in medical school with 2 years still to go; you get near the end and wonder if you still remember why you're doing it in the first place. I know I'll have good days and bad but if I have more of those " bad days" I'll just give it a rest.
Music'z my thing; I love anything with great guitars and meaningful lyrics. I got my nickname from an Alanis Morrissette hit "Ironic":

Traffic- jam when you're already late
and no smoking sign on you're cigarette break
It's like ten thousand spoons when
all you need is a knife
It's meeting the man of my dreams
and then meeting his beautiful wife
Isn't it Ironic.....Don't ya think?

I'm learning Spanish, don't know why exactly but I guess the lady woman sounded so extremely sexy saying " Usted desea tomar lecciones espanolas ? " and I'm like " Where do I sign?"
Guys, If you find anything you don't like around here then no offense maybe I was having a bad day!
